Kid's Ministry Update

Swings.png

Children’s Ministry at the Vine is continuing to grow and change. Addie Gerlach was brought on staff in February and is overseeing curriculum, volunteer schedules, and communication. We are concluding The Gospel Project story cycle and will soon begin again in Genesis.

In May we are running a food drive for Nourishing Network in Edmonds School District, a charitable program bringing food to homeless and at-risk youth in the district. The Vine Children’s classrooms will be raising money and asking for donations of non-perishable food items such as canned chili, fruit snacks, shelf-stable milk, and granola bars. As the school year winds down, we also hope that families will consider continuing to serve our community by volunteering at the Nourishing Network summer meals. More info here: https://foundationesd.org/nourishing-network/

Although it still occasionally snows, summer is right around the corner.

The Vine will not be hosting a VBS as in years past; we hope to be a support in being Christ to others. Consider attending and serving at a local VBS at one of your neighborhood churches, or churches such as:

Brookview (http://brookviewchurch.com/)
Crossway (http://crosswayfellowshiponline.org/)
Kenmore Community Church (http://kenmorechurch.org/)

Families in our church will also host and lead Backyard Bible Club, a neighborhood event to connect with the people already around us.

Using an outline of story ideas, crafts, snacks, and games, Backyard Bible Club will introduce our God to others through Exodus 34:6—“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty.”

Chat with friends and team up to lead a BYBC at your home or a neighborhood park. Curriculum and supplies will be provided, and support from Children’s Staff is available if needed. If you’re interested, please let Addie know at kids@thevinenw.com

In Children’s Ministry at The Vine, our hope is that we would come alongside parents and families in supporting children’s love and knowledge of Jesus and His Word and are grateful that you entrust your children to our care week in and week out during the service.
